Bike Pumps & CO2 Inflators

Something different, every day.

The bike pump is the most important accessory that no cyclist should travel without. It allows, to some extent, to ensure against unforeseen situations that arise on the road. By design, they are conditionally divided into manual and floor-mounted (single-piston, two-piston).

Portable Bike Pumps (forklift, universal).

For mountain bikes, a pressure gauge is desirable, but not required. Pumping up to the correct pressure is very important for the road bike, so it is essential. Very comfortable, that easily fits into a subframe bag, lightweight, cheap. Disadvantages - no stand (you have to keep it suspended), short service life.

Pneumatic Bike Pumps - Mini Portable Air Pump CO2, very compact, will be useful for athletes. Inflates thanks to a gas cylinder. The downside is the high price, limited use.

Floor Bike Pumps.

Due to its large volume, wheels (of any diameter) can be filled up to the stop in a matter of seconds, which is its undoubted advantage. It is also distinguished by its durability, which very rarely breaks.

Tourist Bike Pumps.

Designed for long journeys and hikes. One of the requirements is convenience and capacity. Conveniences include the presence of a pressure gauge and a long hose (allows you to get to the nipple at any location), folding the handle in the form of the letter T.

Electric Bike Pumps

- produced mainly for car tires, but it is quite compatible with bicycle tires. Takes up little space, saving time and effort.
Depending on the body material, bicycle pumps are:

steel - quite heavy, but durable;
aluminum - not subject to corrosion, lighter, practical, in demand;
plastic - you can take it if you eat nearby, cheap.
A few tips for choosing

always pay attention to the recommended pressure (written on the circumference) that the tire can withstand (also indicated on the circumference). Excess/deficiency can lead to accidents
it is best to have two different options. For travel - manual, for home use - stationary foot.
do not skimp on such important equipment. Better to buy a more expensive, but better quality product.
check the complete set - there must be a boot (a kind of plug that protects against dust/moisture).

All bicycle pumps can be divided into stationary and portable. So, let's consider the types of stationary models for a bicycle: outdoor manual, foot, electric.

Floor-standing hand pump. This type is most often used at home or in the garage: they take up a lot of space, so cyclists do not take it with them on a trip, unless, of course, a trailer is taken on a trip. The service life is much longer than that of other types of pumps.
Foot. Has a small camera. Advantages: high speed and ease of pumping (with feet), relatively low price. Disadvantage - the valve is designed only for "Schrader" (an adapter is required for "Presta"), as many foot models of bicycle pumps are equipped with a pressure gauge.

Electric Bike Pumps.

Has an air compressor. The advantage is a very high pumping speed without any effort. Disadvantages: Large size, very high price, power supply required. It hardly makes sense to purchase such a bicycle accessory for a bicycle.
Portable pump. As a rule, they have special attachments to the bike frame. A significant advantage of this type of operation is weight and compactness. Until a certain moment, the disadvantage was the small volume of the body, which increased the time of tire inflation.
A bike pump is a must-have for every bike owner, professional and amateur. You never know what might happen on the way. As you have already noticed, there is a large selection in the catalog of the bicycle store, everyone will find a model that meets all the requirements.
